Katie Has Finally Called Home

In an earlier post I mentioned that our daughter, Katie, has gone on her first trip away from home without mom or dad. She is in Melbourne, Florida with her bestest gal pal from high school, Jenny. Jenny attends college in Melbourne, studying marine biology.

Katie called to tell me that they have been spending every evening, late into the night, at the beach watching for the leatherback turtles and finally they got to see one. This picture is of Jenny taking her picture of the turtle. Look at how huge this thing is! Its face reminds me of the face on the turtles in "Finding Nemo". Am I seeing freckles?

This next picture is one Katie took of the sunset while they were setting up to wait for the turtles. Boy, do I wish I was on that beach, swinging in a hammock and sipping some kind of fruity rum drink with an umbrella in it. That place just looks so peaceful. sigh.
